Association Of Professional Genealogists


The Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) is a nonprofit educational corporation that provides support for anyone working, or intending to work, in the field of genealogy. APG supports high standards in the delivery of genealogical services, provides educational opportunities for its members, fosters communication among members, and offers a growing range of benefits. APG has over 1,650 members throughout the USA, Canada, and twenty other countries around the world. Its members work in many occupations within genealogy such as archivists, booksellers, columnists, editors, geneticists, indexers, instructors, lecturers, librarians, publishers, researchers, and other professionals.

APG maintains a web site at http://www.apgen.org that contains a directory of members, information about hiring a professional, local chapters, and other helpful information.

APG also has a mailing list for APG members to discuss Association activities. Non-members are welcome to participate as long as postings have a direct relationship to APG's activities.
